  23. This came as a great shock to me, but apparently the echo
  24. coordinator, Doug Rogers, and others on this network, believe that
  25. I have been "attacking" you with my line of questions and comments
  26. regarding your recent posts. Nothing could be further from the
  27. truth. I have the utmost respect and admiration for your work, and
  28. am most appreciative of your participation in this network. When I
  29. see something that doesn't quite ring true with me, I ask questions
  30. and make comments based on my limited experience from my dilettante
  31. perspective.

  33. If I have offended you, I sincerely apologize, and I can assure you
  34. that no hostile assault was intended. I know I can learn a great
  35. deal from you, and perhaps make some small contribution to
  36. abduction analysis. The pursuit of truth and knowledge has been my
  37. objective, yet Doug seems to feel I have been attacking the way you
  38. administer to your patients and do your research.

  40. What follows is extracted from Doug Rogers' statement regarding my
  41. correspondence with you. Once again David, I must offer my defense
  42. of complete obliviousness to the fact that I was acting in an
  43. ostensibly inappropriate manner.

  127.           I thought that your points were well taken, expressing 
  128. legitimate concern about something Dr. Jacobs will surely be 
  129. expected to explain once he starts "making the circuit" upon the 
  130. release of his new book.  I found nothing hostile about your 
  131. questions.

  133.           There is a distasteful odor of "believerism" around 
  134. when people are discouraged from having the chutzpah to question 
  135. the "Authorities" in this field about their methodologies.
  136.  
  137.           I am similarly disturbed about the outrage expressed 
  138. in _UFO_ magazine over Jerry Clark's treatment of Jaques Vallee. 
  139. I found "The Sage of Canby" to be much more restrained in his 
  140. recent article than he was in his earlier critique of 
  141. _Confrontations_.  Even *if* those two guys hate each other, 
  142. their debate is an important one for the rest of us who share an 
  143. interest in these topics.  If some of us want to take sides, 
  144. fine.  Trying to squelch the opposition is another matter.

  175. I was fortunate to find the one I did.  The psychologist is 
  176. also on the board that registers professional psychologists 
  177. in my state, so she is well regarded by peers.
